Submission Guidelines for Valenzuela Shorts

Please carefully read the following guidelines to ensure your submission meets our requirements.

What We Are Looking For:

- Content Type: Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or personal essays.

- Word Count: Submissions should be between 6-3500 words.

• If you think you can write a story better than Hemingway’s famous “shortest story ever told,” then fine, you can submit fewer than six words.

- Themes: We are open to all genres but have a preference for science-fiction/fantasy.

How to Submit:

- Format: All submissions must be in a Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF format. Please use a readable font like Times New Roman or Arial, 12-point size, double-spaced.

- Submission Email: Send your submission to sevenrealmsentertainment@gmail.com with the subject line: "Newsletter Submission - [Your Name]".

- Bio and Contact Information: Include a brief author bio (50-100 words) and contact information in the body of your email.

- Cover Letter: While not required, a brief cover letter is appreciated.

Deadline:

Submissions are open year-round. You may submit at any time, and you will be notified of our decision within 4-6 weeks.

Terms of Publication:

Publication Rights:

- By submitting to Valenzuela Shorts, you grant us the non-exclusive right to publish your work in our newsletter, on our website, and in any affiliated digital or print mediums.

- You retain full copyright to your work. After publication, you are free to submit your work elsewhere. We ask for first digital publishing rights, meaning your work should not have appeared elsewhere online or in print.

- If we publish your work, we request credit if it is republished elsewhere, such as: “First published in Valenzuela Shorts.”

Compensation:

- Currently, we offer a small honorarium of $5 per published piece, payable via PayPal.

- Additionally, we promote your work across our social media channels and provide a platform for exposure to our readership.

Additional Information:

- We do not accept previously published work.

- Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

- If your work is selected for publication, we may make minor editorial changes for clarity or formatting purposes. All substantial changes will be discussed with the author.
